The (Re)Connecting Intensive for Couples in Recovery is a 4-day intensive that offers an opportunity for you to reconnect, build intimacy, and complete your healing journey after betrayal trauma. This intensive seeks to help you and your partner reengage with each other and (re)learn how to be emotionally and sexually intimate after sexual addiction and sexual betrayal.
As a sexual wounding, the betrayal and breach in trust from sexual addiction can rob the coupleship of the foundation to be intimate. For couples in later stages of recovery, often one of the hardest hurdles to overcome is learning how to be intimate and sexual with each other again. Whether it is the result of unprocessed traumas or simply so much times has passed that it feels foreign to be together, couples often note it can be scary, confusing, and difficult to navigate intimacy in recovery.
“Being a couple in recovery doesn’t mean you should simply be maintaining, but rather continuing your healing journey is about rising, thriving, and connecting as a couple.”
Dr. Piper Grant, PsyD, CSAT
This intensive is rooted in the Sexual Reintegration Theory, a result-proven structure for couples in recovery to reintegrate intimacy and healthy sexuality into their relationship. Balancing group work and private couples sessions, you and your partner will be supported in an environment that fosters growth and healing. Each day is structured to give you as an individual, and as a couple the insight and tools to create a new deep and meaningful sexual relationship that feels safe and fulfilling. You will be asked to participate in daily lectures, complete exercises individually, engage with your partner in sharing activities, and complete nightly homework.
